“You can be anything you want to be and you can do anything you want to do, all you have to do is learn and grow, learn and grow.” My High School English teacher said those prophetic words to me my Senior year. “Learn and grow,” I’ve been doing this my entire life.

I grew up in rural Eastern Oklahoma the daughter of a farming and ranching family. My Grandmother always told us, if you didn’t raise it, you didn’t need it. This was true of the food on our table to the natural cures that eased our everyday ailments. As a kid I never realized we were practicing natural health and what a gift I’d been given.

Fast forward to adulthood and my career shifted toward healthcare. This was a natural path for me as I have always sought out to help people in any capacity I could. It’s a rewarding and thankless profession and one I’ve been very proud of. In early 1999 a trusted friend introduced me to Young Living Essential Oils and it wasn’t long before I was studying and purchasing as many of these products as I could. There was something good here and I wanted to be a part of it, so in 2012 I began to build my business.

Like any modern professional woman, I juggled two lives, my “day” job and my passion. As I entered 2020 the world began to change, we were in a global pandemic and I was nearing retirement age. At that moment I knew I had some tough choices ahead of me. Would I choose my livelihood or my health and wellness? I decided to make Young Living my only focus and chose both. Stepping outside of your comfort zone is a scary place to be but I knew in my heart that I could do this and be successful. Cheered on by a dear friend who quoted Rick Godwin “One reason people resist change is because they focus on what they have to give up instead of what they have to gain” I moved forward and retired. That quote sang to me and reminded me that I could focus on what I love and still have a healthy life and robust income, and you can too.
